SUSTAINABLE and ETHICAL
PRODUCT SOURCING

Every purchase, big or small, has a footprint. With each purchase, you have a choice.

By choosing Askari Wild products, you are choosing apparel and merchandise that is created only when the order is placed, creating less fabric waste than conventional manufacturing. This made-to-order production approach, means that through our international distributor we are fulfilling only the items our customers actually want and at the same time your Askari Wild purchase directly supports the conservation of some of the world's threatened and endangered wildlife.

When it comes to actually getting your products to you there isn’t a single one-size-fits-all packaging solution because different products require different packaging types. However, our international distributor is constantly working on reducing the environmental footprint that comes with ordering our products. Some of these ways include :

  • Started using post-consumer recycled plastics to package apparel orders shipped from production facilities.

  • Eliminated the second layer of plastic packaging for all single-item shipments in all locations.

  • Eliminated the need for plastic caps in poster packaging by switching from cardboard tubes to triangular boxes.

  • Added recycling instructions to the poly mailer bags currently being used.

  • Are always looking for more sustainable ways to replace plastic packaging.

The recycled content share in the packaging varies, but it’s at least 50% for outer packaging and at least 30% for inner bags (only used for multi-item shipments).

Around 81% of our distributor's orders are delivered in the same region they’re fulfilled. Having this global fulfilment network allows for faster shipping times and lower shipping costs whilst also helping to reduce CO₂ emissions produced when transporting orders.

The recycled and eco-friendly product range from our distributor is growing and we will be adding further products to our range as these come on line. Products in this range consist of items that are made of at least 30% sustainable, recycled, or biodegradable materials.

Many of the products you will find in the Askari Wild store are printed with the direct-to-garment (DTG) technique. With DTG, ink is sprayed onto the garment, which helps it soak better into the fabric and makes the print less prone to fading. For DTG prints, Kornit machines and inks are used in the production process. Kornit uses high-quality, water-based vegan inks that they formulate, test, and produce in their own factories. Kornit inks are non-hazardous, toxin-free, biodegradable, and certified with an OEKO-TEX Eco Passport.

The international distributor of Askari Wild products also partners with their supply chain and requires product suppliers to sign an Anti-slavery or Forced labour certificate acknowledging that the supplier as well as any of its subcontractors complies with all applicable laws that prohibit slavery and human trafficking in the supply chain process.
